What is Somatic Release Breathwork?

Our nervous system is the electrical network of our being. Over time, unresolved trauma or chronic stress builds up and causes dis-regulation of this network. When dis-regulated, difficulties in our personal or professional lives arise. When we heal this lingering trauma and stress, we heal the electrical network of our nervous system. When we heal the nervous system, we heal the emotional self so our authentic self can emerge.

Breathwork is designed to help us release the suppressed trauma or stress in the body. Whether this negative energy is caused by repeating thoughts, feelings, or old narratives, this embodiment experience takes us out of our thinking mind, giving us the opportunity to tap into our subconscious and clear out any emotions or stressors that have built up over time.

Somatic Breathwork employs circular connected breathing coupled with rhythmic music to provide a cathartic release. This release may be in the form of moving, shaking, yelling, crying, or laughing. Using our breath, we will engage our innate ability to heal and sweep out any defenses, blockages, restrictions, or pains that hold us back from who we are and how we want to show up in this world.

FAQ

Who is breathwork for?

Breathwork is designed for everyone. Some people have physical limitations and should consult with their physician first, but any physically able person can participate.

Can people see me?

Somatic breathwork is an inward journey, so anyone else participating in the session will be lying down with their eyes closed. The only person who will witness your session is the facilitator who is there to guide and hold space for you.

How long is a session?

Each session is approximately 90 minutes. The physical breathwork is about 60 minutes, with 6 rounds of active breathing, 5 short breath holds. The additional 30 minutes is used to introduce and set an intention before the session, and then connect after.

What am I doing during the session?

You will be lying down with your eyes closed while being guided through circular connected breathing. You don't need to worry about technique or knowing when or how to breath because your facilitator will guide you step by step with their voice, sounds, and possibly hands-on touch.

What are the benefits?

There are SO many benefits to breathwork. Stress reduction, increased energy & vitality, improved emotional well-being, greater self-awareness, enhanced spiritual connections, etc.

Our health and overall wellbeing is built from the inside out.

Do people always cry or have a physical expression?

No. Everyone expresses differently. Crying, yelling, moving, laughing, tapping, etc are common forms of expression, but many people have no visible release. They are quiet, maybe at peace, and are typically processing internally.

Personal Experience

My personal experience with Somatic Release Breathwork was life changing...

To feel completely free - clear of all negative emotions and stressors that are holding you back - without ever uttering a single word... There are no words to adequately describe that experience.

Expressing my emotions is something that does not come natural to me. It's something that I actively work on, but I find that I still hold back at times. Being able to release the things that I suppress through expression in a safe space with an empathetic witness is life changing.

I've released intense amounts of stress, fear, shame, guilt, and past trauma through this healing work. And because of this, I'm able to keep a clear mind and healthy outlook on life, even in the worst of times.

I want to help bring this healing and clarity to the world.
